Sales tax follows the transaction
The tax engine covers Canadian provinces and territories: GST, HST, QST and provincial sales tax according to the location and applicable rules. Out-of-province delivery, a trade-in or an exemption needs the relevant facts and evidence. A customer address in another province does not by itself make a sale zero-rated.
In Québec, vehicle net mass matters when deciding who collects QST. The invoice keeps its tax context. Have your accountant confirm unusual transactions instead of selecting an exemption simply to remove a tax.
Three languages for documents and your team
The app and invoice and quote PDFs are available in French, English and Spanish. Each user chooses a language. In Québec, a generated English contract comes with its French version; Spanish is a courtesy translation. Email support is available in French and English.
An invoice, sale contract and registration documents serve different purposes. Signing the contract in TruckDMS does not replace provincial forms, title transfers or checks required by the vehicle registry.
Prepare the handoff to your accountant
Reports separate sales, payments, balances and taxes. Export formats include QuickBooks Online CSV, QuickBooks Desktop IIF, Sage 50 Canadian edition and a CSV journal. An export is a file to import and check in the destination software, not a live accounting synchronization.

Frequently asked questions
Is the software only for Québec?
No. Canadian provinces and territories and the United States are covered. Generated contracts are designed for Québec; elsewhere, upload your own for signature.
Does all my data stay in Canada?
The database and files are hosted in Canada, in Montréal. Email, AI and subscription billing also use US companies. The privacy policy describes those processing arrangements.
